This material was originally described as "Sadanagaite" (IMA1980-027)by Shimazaki et.al(1984), but due to redefinitions in the IMA amphibole nomenclature in 1997 and 2012, the name of this material has changed via potassic-sadanagaite (1997-2012) to potassic-ferro-sadanagaite (2012- ).
