Mining started in prehistoric time (Cu-slags visible), Fe prospects since 1700, heavily mined from 1791-1945, a tourist mine since 1994.
A miners' trail ('Knappensteig') leads through the mining area (see various mining symbols in OTM).
Located about 300 m ENE of Grillenberg.
Redlich (1931) names several adits: Mariaschutz Stollen, Kronprinz-Ferdinand (= Fürst-Adolf) Stollen, Ferro (= Fürst-Johann) Unterbau (1845) and the Obere Kübeck Stollen and Untere Kübeck Stollen in Werning valley.
