Active quarry in Upper Palaeozoic volcanic rocks (basaltoid rock, so-called melaphyre). The belt of igneous rocks is in a series of sediments of the Lower Permian Nová Paka Anticline.

Located close to Doubravice and approx. 6.5 km north-northeast of Jicín.

Mainly known for agates and other quartz varieties.
