It is one of the classical localities of the Italian side of Mont Blanc.

Alpine fissures hosting smoky quartz and other minerals are cut into the Mont Blanc granite ( an orthogneiss as a matter of fact).

It became popular during the 70s to 90s for red Titanite crystals and microcrystals of Anatase,y-Aeschynite with minor Synchisite and Brookite, found even at lesser elevations into boulders fallen down from the high cliffs or transported by the glacier.

It is a wide area virtually extended to the whole secondary valley, therefore the provided coordinates represent a sort of baricenter.
