Tipos: Ocorrências de Ferro - Ligadas a processos metamórficos, estratiformes.
Ocorrências de ferro - detríticas, eluvionares e aluvionares.

Descrição: depósito formado por bancadas de minério de ferro interestratificadas em quartzitos, psamitos e xistos. Evento caledónico. Eluviões e coluviões (Quaternário).
Mineralizações principais: especularite, martite.
Morfologias: aluvionar, estratiforme.
Rochas encaixantes: psamitos, quartzitos, xistos.
Geologia local: sinclinal secundário do Cabeço da Mua onde domina a formação quartzítica.
Geologia regional: Ordovícico (Arenigiano, formação quartzítica). Quaternário. Granito de duas micas tarditectónico.
