Graphite-bearing mica-schists worked for graphite 1934-45.
In 1951 (Neumann 1952) identified as a occurrence of uranium, leading to extensive exploration work being done on this locality.
The Sørstrossa is estimated to contain 300.000 ton ore, yielding 40 ton U at 139 ppmU. The Midfeltet is estimated to represent a resource of 2 Mt containing 80 ton U at 35 ppmU. With the at that time (Føyn, 1953) available technology an estimated 70 ton uranium would have been retrievable.
