拉么-笼箱盖铜锌矿, 大厂锡多金属矿田, 南丹县, 河池市, 广西壮族自治区, 中国
Proximal copper-zinc skarn, occurring along the contact between Upper Devonian limestones and the Longxianggai granite. At the contact, calcareous black shales were metamorphosed into massive hornfels. The ores grade at 2% Cu and 5% Zn, but less than 0.1% Sn.
The stratiform-like ore bodies are conformable with the host rock, with a strike of NNW, dipping NE, and the dip angle is relatively gentle, which mainly includes the No. 0, No. 1, and No. 3 ore bodies. The No. 0 ore body is the largest, with a strike length of 1365 m and an average thickness of 3.81 m. The No. 1 ore body extends for 130 m along strike and 4.32 m in depth. The No. 3 ore body extends for 80 to 160 m along strike, with an average thickness of 10.33 m. The vein-shaped ore bodies crop out in the cutting layer, with a strike of 15° to 25° and a dip of 285° to 295°. The dip angle is relatively steep, and mineralization is mainly characterized by filling and metasomatism along fractures, mainly including the No. 11, No. 12, No. 13, and No. 14 ore bodies. The ore bodies are large in size and stable in extension.
The deposit contains approximately 0.6 Mt of Zn with average grade of 4%, and 340 Kt of Cu averaging at 0.6%. Although Lamo has been historically mined as a Zn-Cu deposit where many skarn Zn-Cu orebodies yield low Sn grade (<0.1%), it is also accompanied by approximately 22,000 tons of low-grade Sn averaging at 0.32%. However, Sn in ore predominantly occurs as acid-soluble tin, meaning it is incorporated within skarn minerals rather than in the form of cassiterite, and is therefore largely uneconomic. The deposit exhibits three principal ore types: massive skarn, quartz-sulfide veins and Sb-W veins. Skarn type is the dominant ore type that occurs in the contact zone between the upper Devonian limestone and the Longxianggai granite, forming chimney-, manto-, and pod-shaped orebodies.
