Köppen climate type:
The ore bodies in the mining area are located at the same stratigraphic position and have a tabular or lens-like shape. Iron ore grades range from TFe@21.8 % to 64.05 %. Both the hanging wall and footwall consist of an andesitic tuffaceous conglomerate from the upper section of the Carboniferous-Permian volcanic rock group. The lithology remains consistent along the strike, and the structural attitude of the ore bodies is primarily a NE-dipping monocline. The Biyushan iron deposit primarily contains three types of ore: (1) Massive fine-grained hematite-magnetite type, which displays characteristics of volcanic-subvolcanic genetic mineralization. (2) Euhedral-subhedral medium to coarse-grained magnetite-chlorite-quartz vein-like hydrothermal filling-replacement type, exhibiting features of hydrothermal overprinting mineralization. (3) Medium to fine-grained pseudomorph hematite hydrothermal replacement type.
he ore-forming process of the Biyushan iron deposit can be divided into two main periods: the volcanic-subvolcanic hydrothermal period and the supergene oxidation period. The volcanic-subvolcanic hydrothermal period is further subdivided into three mineralization stages, with the first and second being the primary mineralization stages. Stage I (magnetite + quartz stage): This stage is characterized by the formation of dense, bright aggregates of magnetite and hematite. Stage II (magnetite + apatite + actinolite): This early stage of mineralization primarily produces a typical assemblage of magnetite, apatite, and actinolite, accompanied by quartz grains, crosscut the mineral assemblages formed during Stage I. Stage III (quartz + calcite + sulfide): This stage is mainly characterized by the formation of quartz-calcite-pyrite veins, pyrite veins or goethite veins that intersect the earlier-formed iron minerals and apatite.
