Karst cave in the Iverian Mountain, just to the north of the littoral town of New Athos (Novyi Afon in Russian, Akhali Atoni in Georgian, Afon Ch'yts in Abkhaz).

The cave consists of 9 major cavities and is one of the largest caves in the world with the volume of its void of about 1,000,000 m³. The abyss on the northeastern slope of the Iverian Mountain was known for ages, referred to as the "Bottomless Pit". The cave was explored in 1961 and since 1975 it has been a major tourist attraction.

The 9 major cavities are known as:

- Makhadzhirov Hall [зал Махаджиров] or Speleologists' Hall [зал Спелеологов];
- Natraa or Natra Hall [зал Нартаа или Нарта], aka Chamber of Sounds [зал Звуков];
- Corallite Gallery [Кораллитовая галерея;
- Apsar Hall [зал Апсар];
- Givi Smir Hall [зал имени Гиви Смыра], aka Sukhumi or Fantasy Hall;
- Ayukhaa Hall [зал Аюхаа], aka Canyon Gallery;
- Apkhiartsa Hall [зал Апхярца], aka Iveria Hall [зал Иверия];
- Apsny Hall [зал Апсны], aka Chamber of Waterfalls or Tbilisi Hall.
