Magnesite mine. The magnesite veins cross-cut dunite, serpentinite and websterite rock types.
Magnesite veins in brown serpentinite may be as thick as 2 m and most are surrounded by stockworks of smaller veins (Dabitzias, 1980).
The deposits in 1976 had been mined to depths of 60 to 70 m where the magnesite vein systems continue to be strong (Dabitzias, 1980).
PGM (predominantly laurite) occur in high-Cr podiform chromitites associated with dunite bodies hosted within residual mantle harzburgite (Sideridis et al., 2021).
