Epithermal to mesothermal lode silver-lead-zinc deposit.
The upper Jurassic Manketou’ebo Formation, which consists of rhyolitic tuff, argillaceous siltstone, and coarse-grained sandstone, hosts the main ore bodies of the Halasheng Ag-Pb-Zn deposit. The vein type and stockwork hydrothermal type are major mineralization types with minor skarn mineralization. Skarns and Zn-Cu mineralization related to skarns have been observed at the point of contact between the Tamulangou and Ergunahe Formations. The concealed #3-1 ore vein is the main lode, accounting for most metal resources in the deposit. The #3-1 ore vein strikes nearly N-S but locally strikes NE-SW to NNW-SSE, consistently dipping 30–85° east. The #3-1 ore vein has an average thickness of 1.9 m with an average Ag grade of 215.11 g/t, a Pb grade of 4.28%, and a Zn grade of 0.64%. Skarn mineralization occurs as concealed ore bodies underlying the vein-type hydrothermal ore body. The vein-like skarn ore bodies have average grades of Zn, Pb, Cu, and Ag of 2.17%, 1.35%, 0.030%, and 82.4 g/t, respectively. The skarn ore bodies are hosted by andesite of the Tamulangou Formation and marble of the Ergunahe Group. Skarn mineralization can be divided into an early garnet-cummingtonite skarn stage and a late quartz–sulfide stage, which is composed of sphalerite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, and galena and accompanied with rhodochrosite, quartz, and calcite.
