NOTE: The San Emigdio Mountains are mostly in Kern County but do extend into Ventura County.

The San Emigdio Mountains are a part of the Transverse Ranges in Southern California, extending from Interstate 5 at Lebec and Gorman, Los Angeles County, on the E to highway 33–166 on the W. This chain links the Tehachapi Mountains and the Temblor Range and form the southern wall of the San Joaquin Valley. Frazier Mountain is the highest point at 8,017 feet.

The San Emigdio Mountains lie north of the San Andreas rift zone. The range south of the San Andreas rift zone being part of the Coast Ranges.
