A Mn occurrence/prospect located in sec. 12, T9N, R21W, SBM, 3.4 km (2.1 miles) E of Antimony Peak (coordinates of record). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Located on Neason Ridge, W of Lebec, in the mountainous region at the head of Pleito Creek, 17.5 miles by road from Lebec. Antimony Rare II Area,
Mineralization is hosted in mica schist. Associated rocks include granite. Siliceous manganiferous rock is enclosed in a highly quartzose, coarse-grained quartz-mica schist. Schist and marble exposed are probably roof pendants in the granite that underlies most of the area. The schist strikes generally to the NE and dips steeply to the SE. Manganese oxide stains are mostly hard psilomelane and some soft black oxides. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings.
Analytical data results: Ore grade is 3 to 13% Mn.
