The lithology of the area is predominantly composed of Mesozoic intrusive rocks and the Lower Jurassic Yeba Formation (J1-2y), which consists of andesite, intermediate to basic volcanic breccias, sericitic quartz schists, chloritic quartz schists, and tuffaceous rocks. Locally, small amounts of sedimentary rocks of the Upper Jurassic Duodigou Formation (J3d) are present, including fine-grained limestone, bioclastic limestone, marbleized limestone, and interbedded sandstone. Based on cross-cutting relationships, two distinct periods of intrusions are identified. One is a granodiorite porphyry related to porphyry mineralization, and the other is a post-mineralization quartz diorite porphyry. The granodiorite porphyry is widely exposed, covering an area of ∼3 km2 and trending in a northwest direction. It is associated with intense contact metamorphic alteration in the surrounding rocks, leading to localized formation of hornfels and skarns. Cryptoexplosive breccias are locally developed at the top of the intrusion. The post-mineralization quartz diorite porphyry is relatively small in size, encountered only in some drill cores, occurring as dikes with width ranging from 2 to 5 m, crosscutting the granodiorite porphyry.
