Name:
The name boojumite is for the Boojum, a legendary creature said to inhabit caves in Haywood County and covet the gemstones of western North Carolina. One can imagine that the transparency and very high lustre of boojumite would attract the eye of the Boojum. (www.visitncsmokies.com/blog/the-legend-of-the-boojum)
Another new thiosulfate from the Redmond mine; compare redmondite, hydroredmondite, hexathioplumbite, cubothioplubmite, hayelasdiite, and finescreekite. Also comparable to steverustite and fassinaite.
