For its chemical composition and relationship to pyrochlore. The Y site is predominantly occupied by Cs (= the prefix cesio-), the A site is dominated by vacancy (= the prefix keno), and the B site is dominated by Nb, hence the root name pyrochlore.
Unique combination of elements: the only known mineral with both Cs and Nb as essential elements.
First natural "niobate" to adopt the inverse pyrochlore structure.

Rough, equant crystals, up to 0.05 mm, intergrown with béhierite and rynersonite on a surface of crystal of béhierite.
