Low-grade metamorphic manganese occurrences 100 km W of Jokkmokk.
The Ultevis manganese occurrences are located in a 20 km long zone between the rivers Stora Luleåelv and Lilla Luleåelv.
The principal minerals are ferrihollandite, braunite, and bixbyite (Ödman, 1947).
Some of the occurrences are located within Ultevis fjällurskog, a nature reserve. The area has been nature protected since 2000 and is 1,173 square kilometers in size. The reserve includes forest that surrounds the Ultevis low mountain massif. The reserve consists of old pines, rough old firs and gnarled mountain birches.
