Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

The area is in the Spanish Central System (SCS) on the slopes of the Guadarrama Range within Precambrian formations, belonging to the Guadarrama System in a structurally deep sector of CIZ. The formations consist of high-grade metamorphic rocks that are associated with significant Variscan magmatism. These formations are distributed among two lithostratigraphic units: the Lower Series and the Upper Series, both considered to be of Precambrian age.
The mineralisation in the area essentially corresponds to a skarn deposit with polymetallic mineralisation, with the presence of tin and tungsten (scheelite), associated with copper, zinc, and silver, and some minor tungsten mineralisation in quartz veins associated with later granites.
