The 3000m of drill core from WLSZ001 primarily intersected the Wulong pluton. The dominant lithology is a gray-white, gneissic biotite monzogranite or biotite granite composed of quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioclase, and biotite. Quartz occurs as augen-shaped crystals, ranging in diameter from approximately 0.5 cm to 1.2 cm. Biotite exhibits a preferred orientation, with its abundance generally increasing with depth. The drill core also intersected 77 diorite dikes ranging in thickness from 0.2 m to 14 m, three diabase dikes ranging from 2.5 m to 6.7 m in thickness, and five lamprophyre dikes ranging from 0.5 m to 3 m in thickness. Quartz veins are locally developed along the margins of the dikes, and localized structural fracture zones are also observed.
The WLSZ001 drill core intersected multiple levels of gold-polymetallic mineralization, including four gold ore bodies, three gold-mineralized zones, two zinc ore bodies, and one zinc-mineralized zone. Several previously unknown (blind) ore bodies were identified in the upper portion of the drill hole. The primary mineralization style is quartz vein-type, followed by altered fractured rock-type and altered granite-type. Numerous dike swarms and zones of sulfur-bearing silicified alteration were observed at depth, indicating significant hydrothermal activity.
