The Ergunahe Formation, which is part of the Precambrian crystalline basement, appears as marble remnants, dipping northward at an angle of 60°. The Wanbao Formation, which unconformably overlies the Ergunahe Formation and consists of a conglomerate interbedded with argillaceous siltstone, dips northwest at an angle of approximately 10°. The Tamulangou Formation parallelly and unconformably overlies the Wanbao Formation and consists of andesite interbedded with tuffaceous sandstone. As revealed by trenching and drilling, porphyritic granite intrudes the marble of the Erguna Formation and is subsequently overlain by Jurassic formations. Skarn alteration is discontinuously developed within the contact zone between porphyritic granite and marble. This contact zone is characterized by well-developed joints and fractures, along with localized occurrences of tectonic breccia. The orebodies form irregular lenses within the skarn zone, measuring 0.5–8.5 m in width and 380 m in length at elevations ranging from 655 to 488 m. The orebodies strike at 40° and dip NW at angles ranging from 35° to 75°, with average grades of 6.77 % Pb and 4.89 % Zn and an associated Ag content of 200.29 × 10-6. The prograde skarn alteration features garnet, diopside, and tremolite, whereas the retrograde skarn alteration is characterized by epidote, chlorite, and actinolite. This skarn alteration is overprinted by later hydrothermal alteration, with silicification largely affecting the fractured hanging wall marble.

The orebodies in the Xiahulin mining area exhibit complex forms, including pillars, pods, lenticular bodies, and lenses, with two main orebodies: Orebody I and Orebody II.
