The km 21 on-ramp north is on the eastern side of the highway. It comes onto the highway at the 8+700 N mark (where the molybdenite occurrence is). It was the most prolific producer in terms of variety of species, and specimens were found along the entire length of the onramp. The exposed road cuts on either side had a varied geology. For example, the entrance area consists of aplite. Along the way there are various meta-igneous occurrences with crustal carbonatites filling fissures in the rock. One of these carbonatite dykes was cut by hydrothermal alterations leading to a wide variety of minerals. The area has been largely worked over.
