Ancient iron mine, working a small siderite lens hosted by gneisses and micaschists. The old dumps were largely swept away during a high-water period in 1950. In the upper Schottenauergraben, a gold-bearing quartz vein crops out.
The IRIS database shows two mining areas. Coordinates are those of the southern one. The northern one is centred on 46.9694, 14.5980.
