Georgetown is a "ghost town". It was a major silver producer until the silver crash. The post office was closed in the 1930s.

The correct location for the copper after azurite pseudomorphs is the "Copper Rose Mine, Georgetown District, Grant County, New Mexico". On older labels the locality is given just as "Georgetown". For more information:
