A belt of Volcanic rocks of Cretaceous and Eocene-Pliocene age, extends for several hundred kms along and parallel to the NE Black Sea coast of Turkey.
The greater part of these rocks are calc-alkaline, with basaltic, andesitic and dacitic types predominant. The volcanics include flows, some displaying pillow structures, tuffs, breccias, dikes and domes.
