Copper-mining in sulphide ore took place in the district by "Christiansgaves (Lilledale) kobberverk" in two periods, 1642-73 and 1759-85 respectively.
The mining district also contains a rather large area with chlorite-schist with lenses of quartz containing ilmenite and small amounts of gold.
At last also one iron mine is known.
