This is a Au-Ag-Cu-Pb mining area located in the upper valley of Lynx Creek, 7 miles SE of Prescott, at an altitude ranging from 6,200 to 7,000 feet.

The veins are mainly confined to a small stock of quartz diorite (granodiorite) 2 miles long and 1 mile wide, intruded by the Yavapai schist on the NW, and in Bradshaw granite on the SE. The diorite forms white rounded outcrops. The schist in the lower part of the district contains numerous strong dikes, to 200 feet wide, of rhyolite porphyry. Some of them also occur in the granodiorite. The veins are fissure deposits with quartz and sulfides containing both gold and silver; there is more free gold in the oxidized material than in depth.
