A limestone quarry in Precambrian Franklin Marble. Located near Pine Island. Started 1906 by the Empire Steel and Iron Company (1906-1924), then owned by the Warren Foundry and Pipe Company, operator of the Mount Hope Iron Mine, New Jersey (1924-1927), then owned by the Atlas Cement Company (1927- ). The quarry is 600 feet (180 meters) in diameter with 50 foot (15 meter) walls.
