Aurangabad is one of the six divisions in the State of Maharashtra with an area of approximately 10,106 square km. It is within the Marathwada region.

The Division comprises the districts of Aurangabad, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad, and Parbhani.

The Division name was changed to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2020. The name change was also applied to the district and town. The name change was challenged in the Courts but the Bombay High Court dismissed the appeal in 2024.
