T3, one of T6's sister ships
T3, one of T6's sister ships

T6 was a sea-going torpedo boat operated by the Royal Yugoslav Navy between 1921 and 1941. Originally built in 1916 for the Austro-Hungarian Navy as a 250t-class torpedo boat, she saw active service during World War I, performing convoy, patrol, escort and minesweeping tasks, and anti-submarine operations. Following Austria-Hungary's defeat in 1918, she was allocated to the navy of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, which later became the Royal Yugoslav Navy, and was renamed T6. During the interwar period, T6 and the rest of the navy were involved in training exercises and cruises to friendly ports. She was captured during the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia, and after modernisation she was employed on second-line duties in the Adriatic Sea. She was scuttled by her crew on 11 September 1943 in the aftermath of the Italian capitulation. (This article is part of a featured topic: Ships of the Royal Yugoslav Navy.)
