Named in honor of Lincoln S. Hollister (16 October 1938, Rochester, Minnesota, USA - ), at Princeton University for his extraordinary contributions to earth science.
The only known purely Al-Fe alloy. Found together with another Al-bearing alloy, stolperite. Known synthetic analogue.
An orthorhombic synthetic polymorph is known (Xia et al., 2019).
