Name:
Named in honor of John R. Beckett, a cosmochemist at California Institute of Technology.
The V3+ analogue of addibischoffite and warkite.

Chemically similar to sherwoodite (both Ca-Al-V minerals, but different V valency); somewhat similar to burnettite, mukhinite, kannanite.

It is a primary, high-temperature species, formed due to igneous crystallization of an 16O- and V-rich CAI (Calcium-Aluminium-Inclusion) melt.
