Honors Felix Karl Ludwig Machatschki (22 September 1895, Arnfels, Styria, Austria – 17 February 1970), Professor of Mineralogy, University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria.
Rare example of a mineral with arsenate and phosphate anions on separate structural positions (i.e., not substituting for each other). Second such mineral is epifanovite, while the third is walentaite.
