A nepheline-sodalite-syenite pegmatite lens, 4 x 7 m² in size, located on the right bank of the Narsaq river at the foot of Kvanefjeld mountain. It occurs at the contact with lujavrite (gneissic nepheline syenite) and naujaite (poikilitic sodalite syenite).

Description: Semenov (2001) argues that the joaquinite group mineral found and described by Semenov et al. (1967) should be termed joaquinite-(Ce) based on the current nomenclature at the time. However the mineral was renamed by Matsubara et al. (2001) as orthojoaquinite-(La) in accordance with Levinson (1966) and because La is the dominant rare-earth element in the mineral.
