Old Cu(-Fe-Ni) mine in the valley of Rio Blet, operated until 1880 by Victor Emmanuel Mining Company Ltd.
The only known example of pentlandite epitaxially overgrown on pyrrhotite has been observed on a specimen preserved at the British Museum, Natural History (Ehrenberg, 1932; Francis et al., 1976). Pentlandite occurs as tri-radiate overgrowths in two orientations on the (00.1) face of pyrrhotite. These "stars" are composed of small crystals that have faces normal to the ray directions.
