Ancient zinc mine, owned by the Stolberger Zink AG. From 1927 until its closure in 1936, around 50,000 tons of zinc ores were recovered. The dumps remaining near the road leading to Effelsberg were largely carted away for road construction works during the 1970s. Located on Hürnigskopf hill near Plittersdorf, 4 km south of Kirchsahr and about 14 km WSW of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
