Köppen climate type:
A concealed porphyry molybdenum deposit that is associated with molybdenum-bearing granitic intrusion (about 885 m below the surface) in the Yaozhuang Pb–Zn deposit area. The exposed strata are primarily the Mesoproterozoic Kuanping Group, which is primarily comprised of metamorphic marine volcanic rocks and clastic rocks. The Kuanping Group consists of three distinct formations: the Guangdongping Formation, Sichakou Formation, and Xiewan Formation. The predominant lithologies of the Guangdongping Formation are light gray-white quartzite, gray-green albite actinolite schist, and plagioclase amphibole schist. The Sichakou Formation is comprised by gray-black biotite quartz schist, sericite quartz schist, light gray and gray-white quartzite, and light gray marble. The Xiewan Formation is primarily exposed in the northeast area, with the lithologies being primarily gray-black biotite quartz schist, gray-green albite actinolite schist, and light gray-white marble. The Yaozhuang Pb–Zn deposit currently has several discovered ore bodies, which are lentoid and veined. The ores mainly include veined and disseminated structures.
Stage I: Quartz–pyrite–arsenopyrite stage is dominated by the coexistence of arsenopyrite and pyrite with quartz, occurring as quartz–pyrite veins and quartz–pyrite–arsenopyrite veins.
Stage II: Quartz–calcite–polymetallic sulfide stage represents the lead–zinc mineralization of this deposit.
Stage III: The late hydrothermal veins of calcite–quartz stage are relatively extensive.
The Yaozhuang Pb–Zn deposit is classified as a hydrothermal vein-type deposit related to the concealed granitic intrusion during the Late Mesozoic.
