Currently, it has a total resource of >4,000,000 tons Pb + Zn and >3000 tons Ag, with >26 Pb–Zn–Ag polymetallic deposits, including three large and ten medium deposits. Abundant EW-, NE-, NW-trending second-order faults occur within the Shaolanghe Orefield, which are associated with the regional granitaoids and gold deposits. The lithologies are mainly Carboniferous carbonate, Early Permian sandstone, Late Jurassic rhyolitic rocks and Quaternary sedimentary rocks. Based on previous geochronology and geochemistry, the intrusions have been divided into four stages: Late Archean monzogranite, Early Permian granite and quartz diorite, Late Permian granite and Cretaceous diorite porphyry. A battery of Pb–Zn–Ag deposits (skarn, porphyry, SEDEX, and minor epithermal deposits) have been found recently, e.g. large Heerhusu Pb–Zn deposit, Dongzi Pb–Zn–Ag deposit, and Qingshidongzi Pb–Zn–Cu deposit.
