926 pegmatite veinlets have been discovered in the Renli Nb‐Ta deposit,
and 712 and 214 veinlets crosscut into the granite intrusions and the Lengjiaxi group schist.
Reserves: 14057 t Nb2O5 @ 0.047 %, 10791 t Ta2O5 @ 0.036 %
Pegmatites in the Renli Nb-Ta deposit are mainly MA-type.

The giant Renli rare-metal deposit located in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, lies within the Be + Nb–Ta + Li + Cs mineralization zone along the southwestern margin of the Mufushan composite batholith. This area, characterized by intense magmatic differentiation, hosts the most diverse rare-metal mineralization, encompassing the magmatic and hydrothermal stages. The region exhibits intense magmatic activity, with large-scale Yanshanian Mufushan batholith being predominantly distributed in the northeastern part of the mining area. The first intrusive phase, represented by gneissic/porphyry-like coarse- to medium-grained biotite monzogranites, forms extensive batholithic bodies with distinct marginal and transitional facies. The medium- to fine-grained muscovite monzogranite, forming a stock-like body, represents the second intrusive phase and is distinctly bounded from first intrusive phase, characterized by extensive sericitization and albitization. Renli pegmatites display horizontal zonation, classified into four belts: (I) microcline pegmatite within the granite body and contact zones, (II) microcline-albite pegmatite at 0.5–1.5 km from granite, (III) albite pegmatite at 1.2–2 km, and (IV) albite-spodumene pegmatite in the outermost zones, corresponding to the Suodun, Chuanziyuan, and Zhuzidong mining sections. On moving outward from the granite contact, pegmatites evolve from K-rich to K–Na-rich, Na-rich, and Na–Li-rich types with decreasing vein sizes, increasing structural complexity, enhanced metasomatic features, and more complex rare-metal mineralization.
