Euhedral quartz crystals are known to occur in the broader area close to the Kato Nevrokopi village.
Ranciéite has been recorded from the manganese deposits of Kato Nevrokopi (Nimfopoulos et al., 1997). The associated Mn-oxide ores have formed from weathering of continental hypogene rhodochrosite-sulphide veins.
