This is a Au-Ag, and minor W mining area, located about 50 miles SE of Prescott, in the southern foothills of the Bradshaw Mts at about 2,600 feet of altitude. It was started before 1875.

The prevailing local rock is Bradshaw Granite. On the East side of the district, West of the Agua Fria River, a belt of Yavapai Schist 2 miles wide and trending North. Pegmatite dikes are abundant, particularly near the contact.

Five long, branching dikes of rhyolite porphyry lie between the Tip Top Mine and Rockwell Gulch. These dikes are intersected and faulted by seven or eight gold and silver veins striking North and northeast.

The history of this district is essentially the history of the Tip Top Mine. Total production is estimated at $4,000,000 (period values), but is felt to be a high estimate.
