Köppen climate type:
Moderately manganiferous siliceous pelagites.
Manganoan berthierine, interlayered with manganoan chlorite (chamosite) in small recrystallised patches in cherty metapelagites, metamorphosed in prehnite-pumpyellite facies. Or in the second source- Porphyroblastic manganoan axinite, manganoan pumpyellite, manganoan chlorite, with trace spessartine and sphalerite, in extremely fine grained quartz-albite-bethierine-phengite-titanite groundmass.
It is uncertain this is a specimen site, and may relate to general rock units.
The Meyers Pass area can be accessed via the Meyers Pass Road, a narrow gravel road which winds through the low Campbell Hills north-west of Waihaorunga. It is an out of the way place, and we are struggling to find reasons to go.
