Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Sphalerite vs. Anorthite
Both zinc ore Sphalerite and calcium plagioclase feldspar Anorthite have perfect cleavage that will split cleanly if you hit them with a hammer, but only one can claim a larger split of your votes!

Lateritic nickel deposit.
The lateritic Ni-Co deposit of Yuanshishan in Qinghai Province, NW China, has both lateritic ore bodies and well-preserved protoliths; thus, this deposit provides valuable research materials for the study of parent rocks. A composite rock assemblage composed of dunite-harzburgite-pyroxenite occurs at Yuanshishan, in which fresh olivine and pyroxene are still preserved in the mafic–ultramafic rocks, which represent the earliest silicate minerals to crystallize in the parent magma.
The Yuanshishan mafic–ultramafic rocks are distributed along the tectonic zone and extend in a nearly east–west direction, with a length of 2.5 km, a maximum width of 0.6 km, and a depth of extension of more than 800 m. The Yuanshishan Ni-Co laterite deposit is mainly Fe-Ni ore, with estimated iron ore reserves of 1.83 million tons and the associated nickel reserves of 5377 tons. There is no published data on the grade and tonnage of Co in this deposit. It is a composite rock body composed of dunite, harzburgite and clinopyroxenite, which was emplaced into the Liudaogou Group at the end of the Caledonian period. The mafic–ultramafic rocks in the tectonic zone are strongly altered by serpentinization, uralitization, chloritization, carbonatization, and silicification. The ore body is located in the upper and adjacent part of dunite, pyroxenite, harburgite and all silicified ultramafic rocks.
