Pegmatite veins with niobium-tantalum-rich mineralization, hosted in fine-grained biotite granite in the western rim of the Lingshan complex. In addition, concealed vein-type tungsten-tin and greisen-type tin and niobium-tantalum-tungsten ore bodies have been discovered at depth.

The concealed Songshugang granite, located at a depth of ∼150 m beneath the surface, is known by the underground workings, and in particular a sampled drill-hole. Its presence was however revealed by the existence at the outcrop of a swarm of mined W-Sn-bearing quartz veins. Cassiterite, a late generation of Mn-rich wolframite and Li-micas are the result of the interaction between an early quartz-wolframite system and the magmatic fluids issued from the Songshugang intrusion. A very similar geological arrangement is known in the West European Variscan belt, where the La Bosse wolframite stockwork was crosscut and geochemically overprinted by the c. 310 Ma Beauvoir RMG.
