On the SW side of Moncucco, in Antrona Valley (Ossola), there is the Montescheno pegmatite. At Alpe I Mondei, there was a quarry, now abandoned, which extracted quartz and feldspar from a pegmatite that in this area cut an amphibolitic peridotite within a gneiss formation.

"Despite not explicitly quoted in the published literature, the "I Mondei pegmatite" should be better classified as a "meta-pegmatite", based on field observations of the present day rock textures. The two families of radiometric ages found in the literature will be also better explained considering cooling ages and post-metamorphic peak ages as well." (PGB 2009)
