Stratiform gold mineralizations, occurring within a series of Proterozoic age carbonaceous shales, sandstones, and siltstones interpreted to have been subject to regional-scale folding, low-angle thrust faulting, shearing and ductile-brittle deformation.

The Boka gold deposit is located in the northern segment of the Kangdian metallogenic province on the western edge of the Yangtze Block, has an estimated Au reserve of 20 tons with an average grade of 1.6 g/t. The exposed strata in the deposit are composed of the Mesoproterozoic Kunyang Group overlain by Neogene strata. The Kunyang Group consists of slates, carbonaceous slates, and carbonate rocks (dolostones), which are subdivided into the Dayingpan Formation, Yinmin Formation, Luoxue Formation, Heishan Formation, and Pingdingshan Formation from bottom to top. The ore-hosting strata are primarily the Luoxue, Yinmin, and Heishan formations, which are composed of carbonaceous slates. The Lower Kunyang Group is mainly exposed the core of the overturned anticline in the Tuobuka complex, with a thickness of up to 500 m. The Middle and Upper Kunyang Group strata are exposed on both limbs of the anticline, with a maximum thickness of up to 3000 m. In the Boka gold deposit, magmatic rocks exposed in the Heishan and Luoxue groups are dominantly diabase, with albitization alteration zones characteristically developed at their tops.
The Boka gold deposit comprises 16 ore bodies, with eight ore bodies in each of the Xinshan and Majiagou mining sections. The orebodies show approximately N–S-trending and dip eastward at angles of 20°–70°, aligning closely with the emplacement orientation of the host rock masses. Their distribution is structurally controlled by shear-fractured zones bounded by the F3 and F4 faults, exhibiting linear alignment patterns. These ore bodies generally exhibit stratiform, lenticular, or vein-type morphologies. Ore bodies occur within fractured zones at the contact between diabase and strata, albitization alteration zones, and carbonaceous slate overlying albitized diabase alteration zone.
