雲水峰鉱山, 福島県 宇津峰山
One of the largest dikes of granitic pegmatite in the Abukuma Mountains and is widely accepted as representative of the bodies exposed in the area. It is a rare-earth element pegmatite and is strongly zoned and consists of a wall zone with a well-developed graphic intergrowth of quartz and microcline perthite; an intermediate zone including large euhedral crystals of tourmaline; and, a quartz core. It is located on the western slope of Mt. Uzumine. It is 20 meters wide, with a strike of N60ºW and a dip of 80ºS, emplaced into biotite schist of the Gozaisyo Series of the Cretaceous Abukuma metamorphic rocks.
