Granite pegmatite. Some 7-8 km south of Jokkmokk is the Ruoutevare mountain, with the top some 200 m above the surrounding area. The pegmatite lies in the center of an approx. 3 x 3 km gabbro body, surrounded by granodiorite and diorite.

Dagbo & Martinsson (1981) list 9 quartz quarries in the pegmatite.

Note: Not to be confused with Ruoutevare near Kvikkjokk (a titaniferous iron ore deposit; http://www.mindat.org/loc-63560.html).

Note on the mineral list: "magnesite" was erroneously listed in the literature; it was probably confused with magnetite.
