Active limestone quarry (green glauconite sandstone of the Garschella Formation occurs as well).
Minerals are found in voids of thin, calcite-filled fissures in grey to dark grey limestone. The quarry is also known for spherical pyrite aggregates (concretions) embedded in the limestone.
Rarely, large calcite-filled faults contain calcite crystals up to about 35 cm.

Located near Unterklien (part of Hohenems).
