Summary after Stara et al. 1993 : hydrothermal polymetallic vein type rich in silver embedded in Paleozoic (likely Silurian) claystones ("Scisti Neri" Auct.). Main Vein has N20E strike dipping East. Prospected since 1873 at least, discovery declaration in 1890, operated from 1892 to about 1900 by Societè Des Mines du Riu Ollastu (mining company under French law) with a net outcome of about 12 metric tons of Silver, concession expired in 1915. Abandonment due to a combination of: lost track of the main vein in the subsurface, increasing difficulties in underground water management and temporary market crisis inhibiting big investments. Revamping attempted from 1936 to 1942 but failed.
Coordinates revised based on satellite images tied to knowledge of the site ("linear" dumps along the river are clearly visible)
