Acceglio is a comune (municipality) located in the upper Maira Valley, on the border with France.

A meta-basalt body crops out to the N of Acceglio.

The best epidote specimens are found along Rio Mollasco. This locality very likely coincides with the occurrence of Comba Peraegüe, a disued toponym mentioned by Zambonini (1903) and recorded in Dana (1914, Appendix II, page 39).


Note: In same mineral collections, minerals from the lazulite deposit embedded in Verrucano-like conglomerates outcropping on the right side of Maira stream, southwest of the Maddalena hamlet and downstream of Acceglio, in the municipal territory of Prazzo, are labelled as from Acceglio.
